Andreas Hjert started to fly helicopters in 1988 and is currently an instructor, examiner, and Deputy Head of Training for Norwegian Air Ambulance. His background comprises fixed-wing jet and helicopter operations. His main activity since 2003 is HEMS and lighter SAR applications. He has held several management roles for different operators, in different countries, comprising Base Commander, Chief Pilot IFR, Fleet Chief Pilot, Assistant Chief Flight Instructor, Nominated Person Flight Operations, Deputy Crew Training Manager, and Nominated Person Crew Training.
