Bristow pilots and technical crew accept pay deal
Workers at Bristow Helicopters have accepted a new deal of employment after strikes earlier this year
The British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) has announced that members at Bristow Helicopters have accepted a new multi-year pay deal and agreement on terms and conditions of employment after strikes in May 2024.
BALPA General Secretary Amy Leversidge said: “This result is a significant achievement for our pilots and technical crews who reluctantly undertook industrial action. Thanks to their strength and solidarity BALPA was able to push for a multi-year pay deal and agreement on terms and conditions of employment that delivers for our members and brings an end to further action. It means our members can focus on what matters most – safeguarding the future of the search and rescue service, keeping people safe and similarly transporting those who work on oil and gas installations.”
Terms of the deal have not been released but Bristow previously said that it had offered a pay increase of about 11%, as well as a one-off payment equating to 6% of 2023 salaries.
The May strike came as Bristow approached the end of its first 10-year contract to provide search and rescue services for the UK, on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
